American Greeting Cards – Aug 2nd

Come join me and American Greeting cards this August 2nd between 10am-4pm at Harmon’s grocery store at 672 East 11400 South in Draper Utah.  I’ve been hired by Kaman’s Art Shoppes Inc to draw live caricatures to help American greeting Card’s marketing promotion in the greater Salt Lake City area.  The caricatures are free to all those who come! Check out my gallery and get excited about having your caricature drawn…and do a little grocery shopping at the same time. It’s a great time and worth traveling to Harmon’s store for a very unique drawing of yourself and picking out some great American Greeting cards for all occasions.  I promise to be NICE!!

Live caricatures are one of my specialties and can be drawn in a variety of styles.  The most common are the black and white “carnival” style.  Other styles include colored “carnival” style, air brushed drawings, and highlighted drawings on toned (colored) paper. So, come and say “hello” to me, Doug Stout, and see what style I’ll be drawing.

Here’s a little info about the American Greetings Corporation:

American Greetings Corporation is the world’s largest greeting card company. Based in ClevelandOhio, the company sells paper greeting cards, electronic greeting cards, party products (such as wrapping papers and decorations), and electronic expressive content (e.g., ringtones and images for cell phones). In addition, the company owns the Carlton Cards, Tender Thoughts, Just For You, and Gibson brands. The company was founded in 1906 by Polish immigrant Jacob Sapirstein (1885–1987), who sold cards from a horse-drawn cart, American Greetings has been run by members of the family since its inception.

Something I didn’t know about American Greetings is they have a toy design and licensing division.  The most widely known and copyrighted properties are  Strawberry Shortcake, the Care BearsThe Get Along GangPopples and Holly Hobbie. American Greetings also holds an exclusive license for Nickelodeon characters.
